I have to agree with you, but it worked for me (save) without any complications, just like scorpio.black. Otherwise, the game really gets going around day 350, but I can’t agree with what someone here said—that catapults are useless. I struggled with 400 troops against a force of 100—with a composition of about 20 swordsmen, 20 axemen, 15 spearmen, 10 archers, 18 cavalry, and 7 catapults—so they really aren’t useless. The map is large because when you’re playing with 12 empires—say, the few in the first game—they barely even fit. It’s small to make the game more strategic. Personally, I mostly play by making a few cities purely military—they need to be supplied—and building one resource city alongside them (my estimate is 1 resource city for every 2 military cities), or a mixed city (often the capital), which prospers (a little) and produces soldiers (a little).

That's awesome—I was level 1000, but I had a cheat for it.

It's incredibly time-consuming—why can't it be sped up? This way, I have to spend time on it that I don't even use in the game, just watching the surks pile up. It really annoyed me that just when I’d built everything up nicely, had an army of riders, and was finally ready to start fighting, I wanted to save my progress first. I hit “Save,” and the whole thing crashed—I had to shut it down and start over. I wasted at least an hour for nothing.

I love strategy games!

All in all, it works

"To save" is fine. And one more thing: the best part for me is that when I'm in a battle and don't send out my soldiers, they run over to me and it's VICTORY.

Maybe the "Save" function doesn't work for certain types of programs. Those of us who can't get it to work probably have a program that doesn't respond to the "Save" function, but whenever I use "Save," it ruins the whole game for me.
