Imperator Rome

A fantastic turn-based strategy game that grabs you and won’t let go. The only downside is that you can only recruit an army in Italy. TIPS: Build a strong army right at the start (cost: about 250g)., Conquer the east first, then wait for the barbarians to arrive and attack them... this will give you one more province... then send everything west—Hannibal will arrive there with 40,000 troops! Don’t forget to constantly replenish your army and build a fleet costing about 450 g. — Buy a Colosseum for 50 in each province to raise the tribute to the maximum... this will keep the provinces free of rebellion.

It's easy—I've never once used the army. All you have to do is bribe them and quickly occupy the countries from which the barbarians and Hannibal will come (those countries are, in order, Greece, then—unfortunately, I don't know exactly where it is, but roughly in the southeast corner—and then Carthage;the first attack will come in the 20th turn from Greece, then in the 40th turn from the southeastern country, and finally Hannibal from Carthage).

Addendum on the Countries of Origin of the Armies
1. Greece,
2. Arabia (far right at the bottom)
3. Carthage

Armies: 1st Army—27,000 men arriving from Greece; others from Arabia; then Hannibal from Carthage with 40,000; followed by Vercingetorix with 40,000 from France; and finally 8,000 cavalry from Mesopotamia
