Daymare Town

Here's a walkthrough for those who don't know: Click on the well. Click on the coin lying on the edge of the well next to the post. To the left of the well, click on the hook lying on the ground. Return to the main screen. Click on the sky. Click on the lower-right corner of the tall chimney at the very top of the roof; you’ll see the first bird. Go back to the main screen. Click on the large rock lying on the ground in the lower right corner, below the well. Click on the string next to the rock in the upper left corner. Click on the upper right edge of the rock to get behind it. Pick up the key. Return to the main screen. Click on the ledge of the house in the lower-left corner of the screen; you’ll see the second bird. Return to the main screen and go to the armory (ARMORY). Click on the door and then on the tiny door located on the side of the lower staircase. Open the door and pick up the screwdriver inside. Go back to the area in front of the staircase. Click on the picture of the man on the wall next to the door. Click on the buttons on his suit and carefully memorize their positions and orientations (you’ll need this). Go up to the first floor and pick up the piece of cloth lying on the floor in the upper right corner. Return to the ground floor and go right into the office. Click on the rolling wallpaper in the upper right corner near the ceiling. Click on the light-colored end of the chimney, and you’ll see the third bird. Return to the main screen in the square. Go to the Book House; on the right side next to the door, there’s a small window in the wall—click on it and take the lighter.

5 Walkthrough. Place the plate on the left side of the Armory building and go inside. Go up the stairs, and there it is—the fourth plaque has already appeared on the ornate pillar. Now head to the torture room, where the goblin is. Since he’s a librarian, why don’t we give him a book? And look—he likes to read. Thanks for the fifth tile! Let’s take a peek in the sink. There’s something in the drain. Wait a minute—we have a fishing rod—and there it is. A key. Let’s go to City Hall. We haven’t checked all the doors yet. Let’s start on the left. First one—nothing. Second one—nothing either. Third one—what’s that up there? A nest with the 9th bird inside! What about the doors on the right? First one—nothing. Second—something’s behind the desk. Some kind of sketchy safe? Let’s try the key. Yay. The sixth tile—only one left, just like the bird. The third door—nothing there. Back to the hallway. Peek up. The 10th bird is between the beams! That’s the bird, Mr. Ducháček.

1 Walkthrough. We’re in Daymare Town and need to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding this town, which seems deserted. The locals probably don’t like the light—I don’t see anyone around. We head toward City Hall, then turn left. Someone’s following us. Some scruffy guy. We continue to the left and then left again (behind the wall). On this post are 10 dots, indicating how many birds we’ve found in town (though, of course, we don’t know that yet :) Gradually, though, we realize that for every bird we find, one dot turns black, and once we’ve found them all, a golden egg will appear on the post. Let’s get to it. Go back twice, then down the alley and up the stairs. A door. But it’s locked. Darn. Let’s go to the main square screen. In the lower-left corner, click on the ledge—1st bird. Back to the square. Click up in the middle toward the sky. Chimney. On its side—click in the lower-right corner—2nd bird. Back. The well. A hook on the left; a coin on the well. Back. Diagonally to the lower right of the well is a rock. A string on the left; behind the rock (lower right) is a key. Could it be for that locked door? Let’s try it. And sure enough, it is! A prisoner? What’s he babbling about, the poor guy? He probably wants help getting out of his shackles. Sorry, buddy, I don’t have a blowtorch. Keep drawing on the wall. Click on the window. Click on the tree branches—3rd bird.

Wow, this is such an awesome game... I struggled with it for 3 hours before the walkthrough was posted; I had figured out almost everything except for a few important details, so thanks for the walkthrough :)

6. Instructions. Let’s go to the pillar with ten dots, where a golden egg should appear. And there it is! Let’s go to the prisoner, give him the egg, and presto—he’s free as a bird... Could those gnomes really be little birds? Or are they actually birds? Back to the square. Where haven’t we been yet? What about that barred sewer in the bottom right? Something smells fishy here. Take a peek inside—it’s pitch black. That’s usually how it is in underground tunnels... We could use a torch. A lighter isn’t enough. Let’s take a screwdriver and wrap a piece of cloth around the handle. We’ll stick the screwdriver into that hole. Let’s light it. Damn it—what kind of crowd is this? Hey, you standing closest—want a coin? Oh, you do, don’t you? And what’ll it take? The eighth tile? I think we can work something out. Heading toward City Hall. Turn right at the railing, slide in three plates, and snap the levers into place. Then go to the other side, slide in four plates, and snap the levers into place. And hooray—the drawbridge is working. Let’s get out of town! With the fishing rod and the lighter too—what a score!

4 Walkthrough. Let's go to the torture room. Click on the left. Yikes, that gave me a scare. What's that little guy holding in his hand? Well, well, it looks kind of lifeless, doesn't it? He must have another tile. Back to the square, click on the Book House. There’s a lighter in the niche on the right. Let’s go inside, take the elevator to the 1st floor. Get out of the elevator—there are two paintings hanging on the wall. The first one has that little black goblin in it! What? He’s the librarian? What about the second picture? He’s not on the roof... The 7th bird? And to the left behind the picture—what’s that? A roll of stiff paper. Go back. To the right, toward the windows. A book! Let’s go down to the first basement level. On the right, in the bookcase, there are loooads of books, but one has a dot on it. On the page is the 8th bird. *Avis somni*? That’s Latin for “Bird of Sleep.” Maybe that’s why the city is so sleepy, ha ha ha. Well, jokes aside. Elevator, second basement level—we step out, and what’s that mess on the wall? Look at that! Buttons that strikingly resemble the buttons on the painting of the soldier. How were they arranged? Oh, I get it. Inside is the second plate. Further to the right, on the table, are a pair of scissors and some sort of lump that looks like a rock. We pick it up, quickly slide a roll of hardened paper underneath it, and… heh heh, the third plate. Elevator, 3rd basement level. We step out, click the button at the bottom right, turn around, and lo and behold—the missing panel from the Armory building is in the dungeon. We head back to the square.

3 Walkthrough. Back to the square. Assemble the string with the hook and click on the sewer grate. Lower the fishing line—and there you go! The first tile. Click on the Armory building. There’s a small door on the stairwell wall. Inside is a screwdriver. What’s that funny-looking thing hanging on the wall? Let’s take a closer look. Hmmm… the buttons on that outfit are all turned different ways. That’s good to remember. Up the stairs. There’s a rag on the right. Grab it. What about that pillar with the plate ornament? Did I miss something? Let’s go back to the front of the house—oh yeah, the right ornament is there, but the left one is missing. Darn it. Back inside and into the office. That tabby slob again! Click behind the wall. Where did he go? And how come it’s dark outside? Isn’t it a beautiful sunny day right now? Strange… In the upper right corner by the window, a piece of wallpaper is curling up. Just a little further diagonally up to the right, click, and we peek out of the chimney—the 6th bird.

2 Walkthrough. We’re heading to City Hall. Then straight ahead—that little black guy again! Turn left. Straight ahead. What’s this now? Some kind of levers, but they don’t work. I guess the metal sliding plates are missing. Turn right and go down the stairs. Click up. Right niche—4th bird. Back down and to the right. Ah, here’s the drawbridge, but it’s not working, obviously. I’m jerking the drawbridge lever in vain. I’ll at least peek over the railing by the wall—5th bird. But what about the bridge? I have to get the whole mechanism working, so I need to collect those four plates for the levers. All right, let’s do this. Back to the railing by City Hall. Now let’s take a look to the right. Straight up the stairs and… You’ve got to be kidding me, right??? Four more levers? Luckily, at least one of them is in working order. So not 4, but I need to find 7 plates right away—for the wooden fence…
