The Package

I had to write it down on paper; the second task—the buttons—is probably the most time-consuming. The numeric code is easy; you just have to turn the numbers one at a time until the green indicator light comes on each time. But I had to map out the buttons because there are several possibilities. I set up the board like this: 234756918clr0→ (from the top and left to right)—then all you have to do is list all the combinations, because in the code 916312, only the numbers 1 and 2 correspond to buttons—that is, the second, fifth, and sixth digits of the code. Those don’t change. The rest needs to be rotated; there are 26 combinations (019612, 019 312, 016912, 016312, etc.). I won’t keep you in suspense—in this case, the missing numbers are 396, resulting in 319612. The switches aren’t that complicated; they correspond to the doubles of the numbers 1 through 2048. Again, starting from the top and moving from left to right, the numbers are 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048. And at the bottom is the fixed number 4095. We need to get to the number 111. So we’ll be subtracting. We need to subtract 2048, 512, 256, 128, 32, and 8. And the final task involves the wires. There are numerical examples on the side of the box. FF000 is the red wire. 000 is the black wire. Just solve both equations, and whichever one matches, cut that wire.

It's pretty easy :) And yes, those codes—FF000 and 000—actually mean something. I know this because I draw on the computer and therefore work with colors a lot ;) They’re computer color codes. 000—black, FF000—red. How magical :D

I think those codes (FFOOO,OOO) are probably just there to confuse people... I got FFOOO using a calculator, so I guess that's the top and bottom... since the cable starts right by that label... that's what I got... so good luck with the repair ;)

I don't understand your instructions—I can't get past Task 2: I type in the numbers (including the question marks), then click the arrow in the right column, and it says WRONG!!! Please, can someone help me???

I've been playing this game; I've known about it since I was about 10 years old. It's cool because it makes me smarter, man.
